Title: Implementing Curriculum with Fidelity
Faith Polk, Douglas Clements , Crystal Day-Hess
Have you ever wondered how early educators can implement a curriculum with fidelity while being culturally and linguistically responsive to children and families? In this session participants will develop a deeper understanding of what it means to implement curriculum with fidelity while supporting full and effective participation of children who are dual language learners. We will explore the answers to common questions about fidelity and examine how a system of training and professional development can support the implementation of curriculum with fidelity while being responsive to the needs of the dual language learners we serve.

Title: Creating a Responsive Learning Environment – Part A
Douglas Clements, Crystal Day-Hess, Faith Polk
This module focuses on creating responsive learning environments for children birth-5. Learning environments should reflect your curriculum as well as the cultural and linguistic backgrounds of the children and families in your program. Because all children learn best in the context of positive relationships, responsive teacher-child interactions are also a key part of a responsive and engaging learning environment. Responsive learning environments build the physical environment, curriculum, and instructional decision-making around children’s knowledge, skills, and interests. Join us to learn more about how to create responsive learning environments that are aligned to the ELOF, predictable, safe, individualized, and reflective of the children and families you serve.
