Making More of Math at School and Home: Activities Designed for Teachers to Weave Math Throughout the Day
This interactive presentation aims to support teachers in providing math learning opportunities throughout the day while also contributing to children’s executive function development. Specifically, teachers will learn how to use free resources on the DREME website designed to help educators support math learning opportunities that are intentional, developmentally appropriate, and playful. These include research-based math center activities and easy-to-use ideas for leveraging classroom transitions and routines. These activities, developed in partnership with teachers, are engaging for children and promote rigorous math learning. Finally, teachers will learn about family math activities available to encourage school-to-home connections and support families with engaging around math at home.
