Xia Li

Xia Li is an associate professor in early childhood education at Brooklyn College of CUNY. Xia received her PhD in early childhood and elementary math education from University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign in 2009. Xia works with Dr. Herbert Ginsburg on the Early Math Resources for Teacher Educators project. Her research involves promoting and refining preschool teachers’ pedagogical math knowledge; she is currently interested in developing projects that involve the use of story-building to engage young children in math talk and thinking.
