Yilin (Elaine) Liu
Yilin (Elaine) Liu is a PhD student in the Applied Developmental and Educational Psychology program at Boston College. As a member of the DREME team, Elaine is involved in the Family Math project, where her research focuses on studying how parents can support their children’s math learning during shared-book reading sessions. Her overarching research interest lies in exploring parenting practices that can enhance children’s motivation, engagement, and academic achievement, with a primary emphasis on early math learning. Prior to her doctoral studies, Elaine received a master’s degree in psychological science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a bachelor’s degree in psychology and early childhood and family studies from the University of Washington.
