Mission
Development and Research in Early Mathematics Education (DREME) brings together scholars and researchers from a variety of disciplines in a collaborative effort to promote young children’s early math development. Based at Stanford University, the initiative focuses on math from birth through age 8, with an emphasis on the preschool years.
Since 2014, DREME members and affiliates from 12 universities across the U.S. have conducted basic and applied research and developed innovative tools that address high-priority early math topics. The goal is to inform and motivate other researchers, educators, policy makers, and the public around young children’s math development.
