Jenny is a doctoral student at University of Minnesota, where she works with DREME’s Dr. Michèle Mazzocco. For the Making More of Math project, Jenny evaluates the executive function demands of mathematical activities, and pilots these activities with preschoolers. For the Parent and Early Caregiver Engagement project, Jenny codes parents’ and children’s attention to mathematical and non-mathematical features during play to examine the association between their tendency to attend to these features. Jenny’s research interests center on better understanding the factors that influence mathematical thinking and learning, and providing insight to support mathematical development. She earned her undergraduate degree at University of Wisconsin, Madison, where she completed a senior thesis on the influence of visual supports on learning geometry.
