Colleen Uscianowski is a doctoral student studying cognitive science in education at Teachers College, Columbia University, under the guidance of DREME Network member Dr. Herbert Ginsburg. She is a part of DREME’s Parent and Early Caregiver Engagement in Math project. Her research interests include teaching early math concepts through narratives and improving math understanding in children with learning disabilities. Colleen was formerly an elementary and middle school special education teacher, where she developed a deep interest in math teaching and learning. She also serves as an adjunct lecturer at Hunter College and Teachers College and provides professional development for middle school administrators and early childhood teachers.
